Ahrefs is also a comprehensive SEO tool and Semrush’s main competitor. Where Semrush is highly detailed and more technical, I find Ahrefs to be a little easier to navigate.

Surfer is an on-page optimization tool that helps you set your web pages up for search engine success. Use Surfer to optimize your content, audit your website for SEO, and generate new outlines and copy.
The tool makes good use of AI to speed up all of these processes and even uses AI to detect if other content was written by AI (how meta!).

Editing is one of the best applications for AI tools. Even if you prefer to keep every other task in human hands, you can benefit from popping your work in an AI editor like these to find everything from spelling errors to deviations from brand voice.
22. GrammarlyIf Grammarly isn’t the most-used marketing tool, it has to be up there. It’s popular because it’s so easy to get started checking your copy for spelling, grammar, and plagiarism issues.

Digital First AI uses AI agents to automate the creation and execution of your marketing strategy. Use the tool to quickly build fully customized or templated workflows. Then dig in further, and it’ll help you parse out data, create content, and manage marketing campaigns.

Most of the current AI buzz started with the free version of ChatGPT. It’s not the only no-cost tool in town, though. These AI marketing tools take on a variety of work and either have a robust free version or are completely gratis.
28. ChatGPTChatGPT has many uses in marketing, but one of the most popular is as a copy generator. With the right prompt, it can turn out an LOL LinkedIn post, an all-inclusive blog article, or a targeted tagline.

You either love video editing, or you HATE it. Capsule has features for people in the first category, but it really shines for people in the second one. Even someone who’s never edited a video before can quickly snip and paste clips, improve the appearance of motion graphics, and add extras like captions and soundtracks.

These tips from our experts will help you do both!
1. Focus first on tedious tasksAI can’t, and shouldn’t, do every marketing job for you. Yang says that when deciding where to get some AI support, look first for low-skill tasks you do repeatedly.
“At a minimum, marketing teams should use AI and automation to reduce tedious and redundant tasks. It’s the best way to free up time for more high-value work.”
2. Repurposing is an AI superpowerSeveral AI tools can help you take one marketing asset and turn it into many. That’s one of the best use cases for them, “while you can use AI tools for things like brainstorming, my favorite use cases are to transform my ideas into another format,” says Yang.
“I like using ChatGPT to create video scripts from a blog post. By doing this, the content feels authentic, but AI has sped up a lot of the background work to adapt content into various formats and for different platforms.”
3. Don’t trade quality for quantityAlmost every AI marketing tool promises to help speed up your work. Flood says to make sure the tools you choose also help you maintain or improve the quality of your output.
“Remember that an AI tool should help you free up time without compromising the quality of the work. New tools are popping up daily, but not all of them will provide the benefits you need.”
4. Try before you buyThe cost of buying an AI tool isn’t just the money. It’s also the cost of integrating it into your workflow.
Flood says to use an unpaid trial before you make a purchase. “Always look for a free trial. Even if it’s not listed on the tool’s pricing page, you can still ask the vendor for a way to use it for a couple of days before committing to it.”
5. Make sure an AI tool solves a business problemSome AI marketing tools look great in a demo, but Flood says you have to ask if what it does matters to your business.
“Keep your goals in mind while reviewing any new AI marketing tool, and make sure it’ll help you achieve them. Some software is really fun to play with, but if it’s not providing a payback it may not be the right one for your needs.”
